The contents of this snippet include the key of C# Minor, octaves, and 4 sextuplets. It must me noted that the French and German Editions have a time signature of “Cut-Time”. While in the English Edition, it is presented in “Common-Time”. The modern convention of this piece is Common-Time.

– Measures 1-4 –
Measures 1-4 is the introduction to the piece. The octave in the beginning can be described as a “bell, ringing in the darkness”.
– Measures 1-4 –
Measures 1-2 consist of two octaves connected by a tie. This creates one long octave that spans over two measures. Measures 3-4 are nearly identical. They consist of two sextuplets per measure. Measure 3 consists of an octave before proceeding. The second sextuplet does not have this octave. The following sextuplets in measure 4 are identical two the second sextuplet in Measure 2.
– Notes in Text Format –
– Phrasing –
Measures 1-4 contain 4 slurs. There is one slur per sextuplet. The first note of each sextuplet should be slightly more pronounced.
