– Biography –
Julian Fontana was a Polish pianist, composer, and lawer (among various other things). He is best known for being a close friend and musical associate to Frédéric Chopin.
Fontana played a significant role in the distribution of Chopin’s music. He was instrumental tn transcribing many of Chopin’s works and arranging them for publication. He transcribed for publication Chopin’s works after his death.
Fontana was a pianist, however, he commited suicide due to his percieved lack of success.
